Frequent questions (FAQ) about energy meters
Measurement of energy can be done wrong on many levels. You have to plan properly, choosing the right equipment, assemble everything in the right place and finally ensure that the commisioning is done correctly. We try here to compile some issues we encountered:
Metering technology issues
What type of meters should we choose?
Meter type depends on the application. All meter types have their advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, we work with all common meter types.
Contact Ambiductor for advice.
What is a compact meter?
A compact meter is a meter where the flow sensor and calculator is stuck together, and sometimes even the temperature sensor. The biggest advantage is the simplicity and low cost. Disadvantages include the lack of flexibility if you need to change something afterwards, and that you have to use ultrasonic or vane wheel flow sensor.
By choosing separated components instead, you can change equipment, and reprogram the equipment for other functions.
Flow sensor
Where to install the flowmeter?
Normally flow sensors are mounted on the return pipe. But most important is that the flow sensor is mounted on the side that is consistent with what is programmed in the calculator. If this is not possible, you must reprogram the calculator.
Temperature sensors
Where to install the temperature sensors?
One temperature sensor must be mounted in the flow pipe and one in the return. They are marked with a blue and red label that shows the cold side respectively. warm side. It does not matter if they are mounted before or after the flow sensor.
Communication
{slicer The meter only responds occasionally over M-bus. Why?}
Usually this is because the meter is battery powered and therefore has an inherent limitation in how much it can communicate. Otherwise it would drain the battery prematurely. Solution: Retrofit the meter with external power supply and release restriction.
How do I change the M-Bus address?
This is done differently in different meters. See the operating instructions for details. Scan the QR code on the meter for easy access to the documentation.
Where can I find BACnet, Modbus or M-bus information?
All protocols and telegrams should be provided on the website. If you can not find it in the appropriate product - let us know and we'll fix it promptly.
Troubleshooting
Meter displays no energy. Why?
There are a variety of reasons why no power is measured. Start by checking whter there are any alarms. See the operating instructions for more information. All meters are equipped with QR code for easy reach to the operating instructions.
